Another Turkish drama, Yunus Emre, is set to air on PTV, after massive popularity of ‘Dirilis Ertugral.’ The Turkish series revolves around a 13th century poor man turned a Sufi poet, presenting a thoughtful outlook on the Islamic history.
Previously, Prime Minister Imran Khan encouraged Pakistani youth to watch Dirilis Ertugral that has been a great idea to benefit the lockdown times. While recently in May, Yunus Emre drama emerged as an another good suggestion. These Turkish drama launches in the country represents PM dislike over the promotion of Bollywood and Hollywood content that only promotes worldly glamor and is nowhere close to Islamic education.
Where’s ‘Yunus Emre’ centering in Pakistan?
PTI leader and Senator, Faisal Javed further shared details about the show on his Twitter.
He tweeted, “On the directions of PM Imran Khan, yet another hit by Mehmet Bozdağ, Yunus Emre (AşkinYolculuğu) is to be telecast on PTV.”
Moreover, the Urdu dubbing of the Turkish drama series has completed which is expected to launch soon on PTV under the title of ‘Rah-e-Ishq’.
Recently, PTV has also shared a teaser of the upcoming series on its official Twitter page:
Yunus Emre: Aşkın Yolculuğu is basically a Turkish biography directed by Mehmet Bozdağ, who also created the famous Dirlis Ertugrul series. Gökhan Atalay is the leading star in the Turkish drama series. Fans of Ertugrul Ghazi will recognise Gökhan Atalay as he played the role of commander and uncle of Aleppo’s Emre. The Turkish series initially broadcasted on Turkey’s TRT 1 channel on June 18, 2015. The season 2 of the serial broadcasted in 2016.
The Turkish series takes us back to the Mongol invasions of Anatolia when the poor villager Yunus Emre left his home, traveled across the Ottoman Empire, and transformed himself into Allah’s servant, a dervaish.
Serving a Great Motive!
Besides government’s good responsibility, PTV being a national channel is also responsible for spreading Islamic values which the TV station is doing remarkably.
Earlier, Diriliş Ertuğrul has been a breakthrough success in the country greatly stirring the Muslim spirit in the Pakistani youth.
The dissemination of Islamic content is followed by ambitions to set up a positive portrayal of Muslim community around the world. The media can be an upright source to promote Islamic historical values — with facts and not propaganda. In this regard, Yunus Emre seems to be another major breakthrough to educate Pakistani youth and children. Also, such Turkish series provide Pakistani audience something new to watch apart from regular ‘saas-bahu’ dramas.
